Ark of Nassau is committed to educating, motivating and encouraging individuals with varying abilities to achieve independence, and enjoy successful and fulfilling lives.
Since the early 1970s, Ark of Nassau has helped meet the needs of Nassau County adults with disabilities by providing programs and services that support their active participation in all aspects of life.
Ark of Nassau is the only local, nonprofit agency providing programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities who are 18 years and older. Ark of Nassau primarily services individuals with Downs Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, spina bifida, Prader-Willi syndrome and varied mental disabilities.
Maximizing an individual’s independence at home and in the community is Ark of Nassau’s fundamental focus. Our quality, caring staff tailors each individual’s program to meet his or her needs and wishes.

Ride with the Sheriff Benefits Ark of Nassau and NCSO Charities
On behalf of the Ark of Nassau Board of Directors, Chairman Vivian Sankey and her son, Matthew, present to Sheriff Bill Leeper a check sharing event proceeds with NCSO Charities. At Christmas, NCSO Officers will shop for gifts with children in need in Nassau County.
